Postal Address PO Box HH 136 Hohoe
Siblings None
Education Primary school 1
Comfort is a young girl who has been left motherless and fatherless. Her mother, Delali Dawin, conceived Comfort out
of wedlock and raised Comfort as a single parent. Delali recently passed away from the AIDS virus. Before she passed, she
was an active part of Pro-Link’s support group after being referred to Pro-Link by Hohoe Government Hospital.
Comfort was born HIV positive, but was not diagnosed until recently. Initially, Pro-Link was able to find a sponsor for
Comfort’s Anti-Retroviral (ARV) medication, nutritional needs, and opportunistic infection support. Unfortunately,
the money from Comfort’s ARV sponsor will expire in September 2007, and she has no new sponsor to support her medication
in the future. Once begun, the ARV medication must continue for the remainder of the patient’s life, so Comfort's
health is currently at stake.
Comfort is now living with her mother’s brother. It is the hope and desire of Pro-Link to be able to find a
sponsor for Comfort so that she can continue to thrive in her young life and remain healthy for many years to come.

and died a few months later. Daniel and his brother, David are now left alone with their Grandmother.
Pro-Link has been supporting the family over the past year. Monthly food rations are supplied including wheat, wheat

has been provided to treat opportunistic infections for Daniel, but not enough money has yet been raised to support his ARV
treatments.
Daniel's condition has significantly improved, but is still unstable as he has not yet begun the ARV treatments. Daniel
hopes to be able to continue to attend and excel in school, but without the ARV medication, this may not be possible.
